What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website saves to your browser. They carry a name, a value and an expiry date. Some cookies help a site function (remembering that you’ve accepted the cookie banner, for instance). Others measure how the site is being used. A few, on other websites, follow you across the open web to build an advertising profile.
“Cookies” is used loosely in this Cookie Policy to also cover local storage, session storage, pixels and similar browser-storage technologies. The Legal Framework Across US, UK and Australia
Three different regulators, one practical approach. We treat the strictest of the three as the baseline for every visitor.
- UK: the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), read with the UK GDPR, require opt-in consent for non-essential cookies. The ICO supervises.
- EU/EEA: the ePrivacy Directive plus GDPR require the same.
- United States: the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives Californians the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information collected by cookies, including for cross-context behavioural advertising. Other state laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Iowa and more) have comparable rules.
- Australia: there is no standalone cookie law. Cookies that collect personal information fall under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, which require transparency about how that information is handled.
In practice, that means: no non-essential cookies fire on chipreign.com until you opt in via the banner, regardless of where you are. California residents who browse without opting in still have the universal “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” option honoured, as does the Global Privacy Control browser signal.
Types of Cookies We Use
ChipReign uses two categories of cookie. That is the entire list. No advertising cookies, no behavioural retargeting, no social-media tracking pixels, no affiliate-tracking cookies beyond the operator’s own (which sit on the operator’s domain, not ours).
Strictly necessary cookies
These are set automatically because chipreign.com cannot function without them. They do not require consent under UK GDPR, PECR, the CCPA or the Australian Privacy Act. Examples: remembering that you have dismissed or answered the cookie banner; maintaining a logged-in editorial session; WordPress session tokens used when you comment.
Analytics cookies
These fire only after you opt in via the cookie banner. They measure how the site is used at an aggregated level: which pages are visited, how readers move between them, where they drop off. We use this to prioritise editorial work. IP addresses are anonymised at the analytics provider before storage, and we do not enable Google Signals, cross-device identity, or advertising-related features.

This table reflects the live cookie set as of the “Last updated” date. If we add, remove or change a cookie, the table is the source of truth and will be updated the day the change ships.
Third-Party Cookies
Two third parties set cookies on chipreign.com: Cloudflare (for security and content delivery, strictly necessary, set without consent) and Google Analytics (for measurement, analytics category, set only after opt-in).
When you click an outbound link to a casino or other operator, that operator’s cookies run on their domain. Those are governed by the operator’s own privacy and cookie notices, not by this policy. We do not control them and cannot honour your chipreign.com cookie choices on third-party sites.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time. Three ways to do it:
- Click the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page. This reopens the consent banner and lets you switch analytics cookies on or off.
- Clear chipreign.com cookies in your browser; we will ask again on your next visit.
- For California residents specifically, use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer. We do not sell or share your data, but the link is there because state law requires it.
Withdrawing consent does not affect analytics data collected before you withdrew. It only stops further collection. If you want previously collected data deleted, email privacy@chipreign.com and we will delete it.
Browser-Level Controls
Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete them, or whitelist specific sites. Links:
Blocking strictly necessary cookies can break the site. We do not recommend it, but it is your call.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
The legacy “Do Not Track” (DNT) header was deprecated by most browsers and is no longer a reliable signal. We do not act on DNT.
The Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a newer, machine-readable signal recognised under the California Consumer Privacy Act and several other state laws. When chipreign.com detects GPC, analytics cookies are suppressed for that browser and the CCPA opt-out is treated as exercised.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
Every change to the cookie table above is reflected here the same day. The “Last updated” date at the top moves. Material changes (new third-party processors, new categories of cookie, any change that would affect consent flow) are also logged in the Document History table and announced at the top of the homepage for at least 14 days.

Do I have to accept cookies to read ChipReign?
No. Strictly necessary cookies run to keep the site working; analytics cookies only fire if you opt in. Declining analytics does not restrict anything you can read on chipreign.com.
Do you use advertising cookies?
No. chipreign.com does not set advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies. The only third-party cookies we set are Cloudflare (security, strictly necessary) and Google Analytics (measurement, opt-in).
Do you sell the data cookies collect?
No. We do not sell, rent or trade the data cookies collect. Analytics data informs editorial decisions and stays within our analytics provider under a data-processing agreement.
How long do ChipReign cookies last?
From 30 minutes (Cloudflare bot-management) to 14 months (Google Analytics, the minimum permitted retention). The table above shows the exact duration of each cookie.
Can I change my cookie choice after accepting?
Yes. Click “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page. You can toggle analytics cookies on or off without clearing your browser or reloading the page.
Does ChipReign honour Global Privacy Control?
Yes. When your browser sends the GPC signal, we suppress analytics cookies and treat the California Consumer Privacy Act opt-out as exercised for that browser.
What happens when I click through to a casino from ChipReign?
You leave chipreign.com and arrive at the operator’s site, where their own cookies and privacy policy apply. Our cookie choices do not carry over to third-party sites.
Do I need a separate consent in the UK and the EU?
The consent framework is the same in practice. UK PECR + UK GDPR and the EU ePrivacy Directive + EU GDPR both require opt-in for non-essential cookies. ChipReign applies that standard to every visitor regardless of location.
