Sites Like Modo Casino: Wider Reach, Ranked on Our Scores

Last updated: August 2026

Modo is a good product with a real legal cloud over it, and most people looking for an alternative have hit the second thing rather than the first. We score it 6.8. It runs in only around 33 states, the narrowest footprint of the brands we rate, and that map is shrinking. If you were cut off, Pulsz and McLuck reach 44 states and Sportzino reaches 40-plus. If you want the same big library with a cleaner record, WOW Vegas at 7.8 has the deepest catalogue in sweeps plus live dealer. What you would give up is the best native iOS app in the category.

Good product, narrowest state map in sweeps. Most people here were cut off rather than disappointed.

Modo Casino is operated by ARB Gaming out of Scottsdale, Arizona, and launched in 2023 with a 2,000-plus game library and a friendly 1x playthrough. Player sentiment is high and the app is genuinely excellent. The problems are not with the product. This page sorts the alternatives by which one applies to you, using our own hands-on scores.

Why people leave Modo

From our own Modo review, four things, and the first two are the ones that actually move people.

  • The narrowest state map of the brands we rate. Around 33 states, and the redeemable footprint is contracting. Sweeps Coin play is off in Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington and West Virginia, plus Arizona, New York and Tennessee. In California, Indiana and Maine it now runs Gold Coins only, having dropped redeemable Sweeps Coins in response to 2026 legislation.
  • The legal position. Modo is named in a class action, and it kept operating in Illinois after a state cease-and-desist. That is a more assertive stance than most of the field takes, and it is a fair reason to want out.
  • No live dealer. For a 2,000-game library, the absence of streamed tables with a human dealing is the notable omission.
  • Live chat is not standard. If you need support as an ordinary player, you are not first in the queue.

One structural point worth knowing: Modo is ARB’s only social casino, so unlike the big sweeps groups it has no sister brands to move to. Leaving Modo means leaving the company entirely.

The alternatives, matched to the reason

If your state cut you off: Pulsz, McLuck or Sportzino

This is the most common reason, and it needs a different footprint rather than a better feature set.

  • Pulsz (7.0) runs in 44 US states, has the deepest broad slot library in the field at 800-plus titles with real provider variety, a 1x playthrough, and 24/7 live chat for everyone.
  • McLuck (6.8) also reaches 44 states, with a real-time multiplayer bingo room that nothing else in sweeps matches. Smaller library at around 350 slots.
  • Sportzino (7.2) is live in 40-plus states with a notably short exclusion list, a 1x playthrough and a lower 50 SC cash-redemption minimum than most rivals. It adds a social sportsbook on top of the casino.

Footprints have moved repeatedly through 2025 and 2026 and no list stays accurate for long. Check our banned states tracker and the state legality checker before you sign up rather than after.

If you want the library without the cloud: WOW Vegas

WOW Vegas (7.8) is the answer if the 2,000-game catalogue is what keeps you at Modo. It has the deepest game library in sweeps, real Evolution-powered live dealer tables, a light playthrough, and it scores a full point higher than Modo.

Hello Millions (7.3) is the other strong pick, with 1,500-plus games and full Evolution and Beter Live tables. Zula (6.8) has 1,700-plus games across the widest spread of genres in sweeps, though it asks a 2x playthrough where Modo asks 1x, and it has its own open class action, so it does not solve that particular objection.

If you want live dealer

Only five sweepstakes operators we have tested run live dealer at all: Stake.us (8.0, state-dependent), WOW Vegas (7.8, Evolution), Hello Millions (7.3, Evolution and Beter Live), RealPrize (7.3, ICONIC21) and Legendz (6.8, six Live 88 tables plus a social sportsbook). If a human dealing to you over video is the missing piece, that is the whole list.

If it is the legal record: pick on age, not features

If the class action and the Illinois situation are what is bothering you, the honest position is that litigation is common across this category rather than unique to Modo, so no operator is a guaranteed clean slate. What differs is how assertive a brand is about staying in contested states.

Chumba (7.2) has been running since 2012, longer than anyone, with the strongest brand recognition in sweeps, though its library is small at around 200 games and it has no live dealer. Stake.us (8.0) is our highest-rated sweeps casino and carries the weight of the wider Stake brand. Both are more conservative operators than Modo has been.

What you would be giving up

  • An unusually good native iOS app. This is Modo’s standout. Most sweeps brands are mobile web or a sideloaded Android build, and Modo’s app is better than almost anything else in the category.
  • A 2,000-plus game library, one of the two largest we have tested.
  • A friendly 1x playthrough. If you move to Zula for the library, you pick up a 2x requirement instead.
  • High player sentiment. Whatever the legal noise, people who use Modo generally rate it, and that is worth something.

The verdict

If your state took Modo away, the answer is reach: Pulsz at 7.0 or McLuck at 6.8 for 44 states, or Sportzino at 7.2 for 40-plus with better redemption terms.

If you are leaving by choice rather than necessity, WOW Vegas at 7.8 is the upgrade: a deeper library than Modo, live dealer that Modo does not have, and a full point higher on our scoring. And if Modo works where you live and the legal reporting does not trouble you, the product itself is not the reason to move.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best site like Modo Casino?

WOW Vegas, which we score 7.8 against Modo’s 6.8. It has the deepest game library in sweepstakes plus real Evolution live dealer tables, which Modo does not offer. If your reason for leaving is a state block rather than the product, Pulsz and McLuck reach 44 states against Modo’s 33.

Why is Modo not available in my state?

Modo has the narrowest footprint of the sweeps brands we rate, running in roughly 33 states, and that map has been shrinking. It also runs Gold Coins only in California, Indiana and Maine, having dropped redeemable Sweeps Coins there in response to 2026 legislation, so the site can look open while offering nothing to cash out.

Does Modo have sister sites?

No. Modo is ARB Gaming’s only social casino, unlike the big sweeps groups which run several brands each. That means there is no familiar in-house alternative to move to, and leaving Modo means opening an account with a different company entirely.

Is Modo Casino safe to use?

We score it 6.8, a mid-table result, and player sentiment is high. The honest caveats from our review are that it is named in a class action, that it continued operating in Illinois after a state cease-and-desist, and that its redeemable footprint is shrinking. Litigation is common across this category rather than unique to Modo.

Which sweepstakes casino has the best app?

Modo’s native iOS app is the standout in the category and the main thing you give up by leaving. McLuck also has a native iOS app with an Android build available by direct download, and Zula has a rare native Android app on Google Play. Most of the rest are mobile web only.
